The Los Angeles Rams are not down. They’re not out. The Rams just lost a game and it happens to every team in history to win the Super Bowl with the exception of one. But with the number one seed on the line, the Rams must be perfect over the final five games, knowing that not only are there five other teams in the NFC tied or within one game of L.A.’s 9-3 record, also two of those teams are in the NFC West.
What do you think the Rams need to do in the final 5 games to close out the 2025 regular season in the best condition for the playoffs?
The Rams have the highest playoff odds in the NFC at 96% and the best odds even if they lose to the Cardinals this week at 89%. Compare that to the top-seeded Bears, who have a 72% chance to make the playoffs and only a 65% chance to do that if they lose to the Packers this week.
Think about that again: The Bears are 9-3 and they’re only 72% likely to make the playoffs. Not to earn the number one seed. To make the playoffs.
Those are the worst odds of any team in the NFC playoff picture!
The Rams are all but into the playoffs already, but to earn the 1-seed and a bye week they need to close out with two games against the 3-9 Cardinals, plus games against the 7-5 Lions, 9-3 Seahawks, and 4-8 Falcons.
What do you think that Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford and Chris Shula need to do to make sure that the Rams go 5-0 in that stretch?

Here are a few ideas to start with:
The Rams are 3-0 against teams that are .500 or worse right now (Titans, Ravens, Saints) but they did just lose to the 6-6 Panthers. L.A. can’t afford slip ups like that against the Cardinals or Falcons. Or even the Lions.
Detroit is 7-5 but they still boast the 3rd-ranked offense in the NFL and now the Lions have everything to fight for in the home stretch. Can Dan Campbell have them up for their biggest game of the season left when they face the Rams next week? We already know this is the Super Bowl for the Cardinals.
The Rams dropped some games to bad teams last year, including losses against the Cardinals, Bears, and Dolphins.
After a few turnovers in Week 13, Stafford must get right back on the horse against the Cardinals.
Last season, Stafford went 5-0 in December as the Rams starter, including 5 TD and 1 INT in those games. He didn’t need to be Superman, he just had to protect the football. The same holds true in 2025.
Including 2023, Stafford is 9-1 in December over the past two seasons. He went 5-1 in December and January in 2021**. So in his...
