Silver And Black Pride
I hope everyone enjoyed their peaceful Sunday last weekend, because we’re back to fretting over the Las Vegas Raiders with their Week 9 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And of course, our Silver and Black Pride Pick’em competition continues as we are about to enter the second half of the regular season after this weekend.

Holder’s picks: JAX -3, JAX ML, Over 44.5
While I do think this is a “winable” game for the Raiders, given that the Jaguars have lost back-to-back contests since pulling off an upset against the Kansas City Chiefs. Also, that game was more about Kansas City’s mistakes than Jacksonville outperforming the reigning AFC Champs. However, the Raiders haven’t given any reason to pick them with just one win in their last six attempts, and the victory came against a very bad Tennessee Titans team.
Moving on to S&BP’s Pick’em competition, below is a look at how our writers finished in Week 8.
To be honest, I got really lucky last week. I picked the Baltimore Ravens over the Chicago Bears because it was looking like Lamar Jackson was going to play when I made my picks and definitely would have gone with the Bears had I known Jackson wasn’t suiting up. That game ended up being the difference between Bill and me last week, as I went 10-3 to pick up a game on him. I guess it’s true what they say; it’s better to be lucky than good! Meanwhile, Ray is still struggling, finishing last among the writers at 8-5 to fall further behind.

For the first time in a few weeks, we have a solo leader at the top of the community standings. EdgarEdm08 managed to take a one-game lead over JeepRaider, Tennessee Raider Fan and Pick’em Pro. There’s still plenty of time for someone to move up the ranks, though, since we have nine people within three picks of Edgar. Also, shoutout to our top pickers for only getting two games wrong, and we had 12 folks get 10 games right.
