Week 7 power rankings: Bears rise after third straight win
Windy City Gridiron Windy City Gridiron

The Chicago Bears have won three games in a row. I repeat, the Chicago Bears have won three games in a row.

While it feels like it’s been a long time since that happened, it was just last year, but then the wheels fell off. This feels different because of the coaching, because it really feels like something is actually being built.

These gritty, come-from-behind wins instill belief and bury the here we go again feelings that permeated the franchise under Matt Eberflus.

Let’s take a look around at how the Bears are ranked by the various outlets around.

WCG – Aaron Leming

18. Chicago Bears (3-2) Previous Week: 20 The Bears have won three in a row for the first time in the early tenure of head coach Ben Johnson. Simply put, this was not a game they won in the Matt Eberflus era. Quarterback Caleb Williams needs to show more consistency, but on the plus side, Chicago’s defense has forced 11 takeaways over its last three contests. All wins. A coincidence? I think not.

The Ringer – Diante Lee

Chicago Bears 20 (22) I have to give Chicago its flowers. Quarterback Caleb Williams looked pretty good on Monday night given the inclement conditions and has been on a hot stretch of play over the Bears’ past three games. Head coach Ben Johnson deserves a large share of credit for building an offense that gets the ball in his best playmakers’ hands and trusting Williams to create his own magic when things break down. Chicago has a fairly soft schedule over the next month, opening the door for the Bears to be on the fringes of the playoff picture come holiday season.

USAToday – Nate Davis

14. Chicago Bears (19): What’s currently a three-game heater could see a spike in temperature given the next four weeks will bring opponents who currently have two or fewer wins. Rookie coach Ben Johnson knew it would take time for his system and culture to take root, but this could be the point where it anchors down.

PFT – Mike Florio

17. Bears (No. 19; 3-2): Two weeks, two games they could have lost, two identical 25-24 wins.

CBSSports – Pete Prisco

17. Chicago Bears (21) That was a big-time road victory Monday night against Washington. Caleb Williams is much improved over last season.

The Athletic – Josh Kendall and Chad Graff

18. Chicago Bears (20)

Fantasy focus: Rome Odunze

Odunze had only two catches for 32 yards in Monday night’s win, but he has been Chicago’s most consistent skill position player this season. After a slow rookie season, he is 35th in fantasy scoring this year (16.96 ppg). Quarterback Caleb Williams is the Bears’ leading fantasy scorer (20.39).

What do you think of Chicago’s rankings this week?
