Six weeks into the 2025 NFL season we have a lot of movement in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings including a new #1 ranked QB. As we do every week, here we rank all 32 NFL starting quarterbacks from top to bottom.
Everything changes around here week to week. Some of the league’s best starting quarterbacks looked pedestrian in Week 6 and that gets reflected in the power rankings, of course. While some starting QBs surprised us (looking at you, Atlanta).
During last week’s NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings we learned a lot and that’s the case each week, though I suspect the fluctuations week over week will normalize at some point!
I don’t think it’s entirely unreasonable to say that Justin Fields at Tottenham Stadium was the worst performance from an NFL quarterback that we’ve ever seen abroad. The Jets had -10 passing yards at one point… Let that sink in.
He had zero touchdowns. Took 9 sacks for 55 yards. And had a QBR of just 9.0. Fields earned the #32 spot in the Week 6 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings with a truly trash performance.
Moving up one spot from dead last is Cooper Rush who debuted at 32 last week and played so bad in Week 6 that he got benched. That’s how bad Justin Fields was this week, a player that got benched is ranked better than him!
Cooper Rush was 11 of 19 passing for 72 yards and an interception before he hit the bench and Tyler Huntley took over with nearly identical stats. Some are saying the Jets are cursed.
Geno Smith got a W this week so he has that going for him. He was 17 of 23 passing for 174 yards with 1/1 TD/INT.
Geno has been struggling to find himself this season. Tre Tucker has at times shown flashes of brilliance with Geno Smith but the 2-4 Raiders need more from Geno Smith if they plan on competing for the division.
It seems fair to characterize Tua Tagovailoa‘s performance this week as doodoo. Tua was 21/32 passing for 205 yards, an average of 6.4 yds/attempt. He did have one passing TD to Darren Waller but Tua threw three interceptions. Three!
Despite turning the ball over three times the game remained close. Miami lost 29-27 at home to the Chargers and it is hard to imagine that happening with Tua’s three turnovers.
Has anyone told Joe Flacco that he doesn’t have to keep playing? He is every bit of 40 years old and by that I mean on some days he’s as good as he once was and others...
