We are officially five weeks into the 2025 NFL Season and our Week 5 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings just dropped. Once again, there was movement all throughout with the top 10 seeing some major shakeups.
There hasn’t been a week yet where the top 3 or the bottom 3 of the NFL Staring Quarterback Power Rankings stayed the same and this week is no different, though we are seeing some normalization across the power rankings now.
During last week’s NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings we learned more about the league and with each game we gather more data and a deeper understanding of each QB’s skills this season.
Cooper Rush debuts in last place in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings after throwing three interceptions and zero touchdowns. He did have 179 passing yards and connected on 14 of 20 passing attempts but the Ravens might’ve very well looked like the worst team in the league in Week 5 and that started and ended with Cooper Rush.
It is unclear how long Lamar Jackson is going to be out but Baltimore is in for a tough time if they are stuck with Cooper Rush for an appreciable number of games. They do have a bye week in Week 7 so it is possible they only have one more week of Rush for now before Lamar Jackson can come back after the bye.
The Las Vegas Raiders might need to consider benching Geno Smith if this level of play continues for another week or two. He has fallen from 7th to 26th and now to 31st in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings after another dismal game.
Geno Smith had 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and was 25/36 for 228 yards The Raiders got embarrassed on the road, losing 40-6 in Indianapolis and that all started with Geno Smith’s poor play.
Jake Browning stays in the #30 spot this week. He has a wild stat line and was entertaining to be sure but it wasn’t enough to beat the Lions.
Browning threw for 251 yards (26/40), 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. He also led the team on the ground with 31 rushing yards (1 fumble). If he could figure out how to protect the ball better and avoid turnovers this week would have looked a LOT different.
Cam Ward climbed out of last place last week to 29th in the Week 5 power rankings after picking up a 1-point road win against the Cardinals.
Ward himself didn’t do much with his arm to earn that W though, with 0 passing TDs and 1 interception. He did have 265 passing yards but he had -6 rushing yards. Not a good look for him but...
