The Carolina Panthers have lost all the optimism and good will they were going to have for the year with last week’s meltdown against the new England Patriots. They’re back at home for the second time this season to face off against one of the few teams they should be able to beat on paper in the Miami Dolphins. Will they? Maybe. Should we expect them to or get excited if they do? No.
The Carolina Panthers inactives are as follows: defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy, tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton, running back Chuba Hubbard, cornerback Chau Smith-Wade, and linebacker Claudin Cherelus.
That’s a lot of starters missing for a team that is famously thin at almost every position. Ironically, the biggest name out—Hubbard—is also at the team’s deepest position. We’ll see what Rico Dowdle and Trevor Etienne can get going in his absence.
No matter what they do, we’ll be here all day to talk—and likely commiserate—about it.
