Windy City Gridiron Windy City Gridiron

The Chicago Bears roll into the third week of their head coach search, so we had to launch a new rumor and news tracker to give you guys a fresh comment section.

Our week one tracker doubles as our story stream that collects all our coverage, which can be found here. If you want to scroll through all the reports from week two, that tracker can be found here.

Here are Chicago’s confirmed and completed interviews: Mike Vrabel (hired in N.E.), Anthony Weaver, Drew Petzing, Mike Kafka, Pete Carroll, Aaron Glenn, Ben Johnson, Ron Rivera (in person), Thomas Brown, David Shaw, Arthur Smith, Mike McCarthy (in person), Brian Flores, Joe Brady, Todd Monken, Adam Stenavich, and Eddie George (in person).

The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs also reported that he believes the Bears have spoken with Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell, but the team did not announce it.

Fresh Tracker launched on January 20 with reports and rumors about the Bears.

  • Mike McCarthy still has only had one interview, with the Bears last week, and some believe that’s because Chicago is the job he desires. (link)
  • Most of the chatter from various local and national insiders are connecting Ben Johnson, Mike McCarthy, Todd Monken, and Brian Flores to the Bears, and that seems like an obvious final four.
