College football is back!
As the 2025 season rolls along, so will our weekly previews of games and NFL prospects to watch. This will come in addition to our NFL Draft coverage over the course of the fall and winter. Whether you’re a fan of the draft or just a college football fan, this series looks to give you an idea of what to watch each week.
Windy City Gridiron’s Lead Draft Analyst, Jacob Infante, will be taking a look at what to expect in Week 3 of this year’s college football campaign.
Blue-chip of the week
No. 20 Utah RT Spencer Fano @ Wyoming, Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, 7:00 p.m. CST
Spencer Fano entered the 2025 season as my OT3, and he’s made his way up to OT2 between his strong start to the season and a slow start from Alabama’s Kadyn Proctor. Fano isn’t as big as Proctor, but he’s a better athlete and a much more reliable technician in pass protection. He redirects well in space and takes precise angles blocking defenders on the move. Flexibility and coordination are key parts of his game, and he uses that to stay controlled climbing to the second level as a run blocker, as well as staying low with good weight distribution through contact.
Even though Fano isn’t the biggest or strongest tackle prospect, he uses his hands well with proper timing and placement behind his strikes to obtain necessary leverage in his upper body. He also has good spatial awareness, identifying exotic rush packages and finding work in pass protection consistently. There’s a lot to like with Fano as a high-floor starting tackle prospect, and if he adds a little more muscle, he could be a top-tier lineman in the league for years to come.
Prospect matchup to watch
Northwestern EDGE Anto Saka vs. No. 4 Oregon OTs Isaiah World and Alex Harkey, Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. CST
Last season, Anto Saka was an extremely efficient rotational pass rusher for Northwestern. Despite not being a full-time starter, he had 27 pressures and displayed impressive pass-rushing tape off the edge in his first two seasons. He hasn’t had a sack through his first two games in 2025, but last year’s tape was seriously impressive. He’s explosive off the line of scrimmage with fantastic flexibility turning the corner, and he showcases a deep arsenal of block-shedding techniques and ways he can use his hands to win at the point of attack.
Saka will be tasked with going up against Oregon’s talented duo of offensive tackles, both of whom having transferred over from the Group of 5 level. Isaiah World was a standout at Nevada, and he’s allowed just one pressure in 51 pass-blocking snaps this year. Though a tad raw as a technician, he moves incredibly well for a 6’8” lineman with the length and quick hands needed to project as a future starter with further development. Alex Harkey came over from Texas State, and while he’s...
