Week 3: 3 Keys for the Browns to compete against the Packers

As the Cleveland Browns prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers, there are several critical areas they need to focus on to make a difference in this game.

Protect the Football

The Green Bay defense, led by Micah Parsons, is going to be a real challenge for the struggling Cleveland offense. Green Bay is undefeated (29-0) when winning the turnover battle under head coach Matt LaFleur. Joe Flacco and the Browns will need to protect the ball and limit turnovers if they have any hope of hanging with this Packers defense.

Defensive Dominance

Packers quarterback Jordan Love has made improvements, but he still tends to struggle under pressure. Myles Garrett and the Browns’ defensive line will need to generate consistent pressure early and try to force some mistakes. Getting Love and the offense out of rhythm will give the Browns a real shot at pulling off the upset.

Establish the run

Cleveland’s offense struggled in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, so focusing on getting the run game going early this week may help to take some pressure off Flacco. Leaning on the ground game will allow Cleveland to control the tempo and open up play-action opportunities for the offense.
