First place in the AFC West is on the line in the Week 2 Monday Night Football matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers, as both teams enter at 1-0. Also, the results are in for the first week of Silver and Black Pride’s Pick’em competition. So, let’s get to it and make some picks!

I hate to be a downer, but the Chargers’ Week 1 win over the Kansas City Chiefs is more impressive than the Raiders beating the New England Patriots. I think Los Angeles is a legitimate playoff team and will be a Super Bowl contender this season, while Las Vegas will be frisky but might be a year away from getting into that category. I hope I’m wrong, but the safer play is to bet on the Bolts.
Moving on to S&BP’s Pick’em competition, below is a look at how our writers finished in Week 1.
Bill takes the early lead in the writer’s standings with an impressive showing in the season opener. Thirteen winners gives him an early two-game lead while defending writer champion Ray rounds out the group at 10-6. Obviously, it’s still early, but Ray has some ground to make up if he’s going to keep the crown.
