Week 2 hot takes: Are Packers new NFC favorite?
Turf Show Times Turf Show Times

Following a thrilling opening week, the Los Angeles Rams are sitting pretty atop the NFC West standings and L.A. has a chance to move to 2-0 for the first time since 2021. With the Rams looking like a sneaky conference contender as expected entering the season, it’s time to see how my other preseason hot takes are going so far.

This Week’s hot takes

Turf Show Times asked for your Week 1 hot takes and you responded with some spicy ones. For example:

ram’68: Rams D will be top 3.

delusionalramfanslosteve: My hottest take of the week? McCarthy and Penix both have that “it” factor and will be legit. Fun game to watch next week. I’ll take the Vikes…

RamGuy: Mike McDaniel is as good as gone.

Merlin&Deacon: Rams OL injuries are what are a real concern after week 1.

airball: Hope McCarthy stays hot and ATL goes 0-2.

RammingSpeed: My hot take…the Rams have the best record in the league

OB-1: Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson needed each other to be great. Johnson is going to end up going the way of Mike Martz post Vermille, and Campbell will never get the Lions to the SB on his own.

BubbaKincaid: (JJ McCarthy) had 3 sh*tty qtrs and 1 good one…easy on the coronation. After 1 game last year Caleb got the same love lol

See anything in there that you’d like to respond to, either in agreement or disagreement?

Do you think Jayden Daniels is in trouble?

The rookie star of 2024, Daniels is struggling out of the gate in 2025. Is this a minor blip or a sign of things to come with a weak supporting cast in Washington?

Are the Packers Super Bowl bound?

The Packers are 2-0 with Micah Parsons and people are already putting them in the Super Bowl. Do you think it will work out that way?

So far, my prediction on the Dolphins falling apart is looking quite prophetic. Miami stunk it up on all phases against the Colts in a punchless 33-8 loss. Mike McDaniel is way in over his head, Tyreek Hill clearly doesn’t want to be there and the Tua Tagovailoa contract is appearing like the NFL’s worst value with each passing week.

I don’t see the Dolphins being so bad that they finish with the top overall pick, but picking in the top 10 of next year’s draft is almost a certainty at this point.

I’m not feeling super great about my Chargers and Lions predictions … yet. The other Los Angeles team played extremely well in Week 1 by beating the Chiefs at their own game. If Justin Herbert’s game is pushed to another level, the Chargers will make some noise in the playoffs, or at the very least, win a game.
