AFC West divisional matchup to close off the Sunday
And we close off this NFL Sunday with two contenders for the AFC conference facing off against each other as the Kansas City Chiefs (- 205) host the Los Angeles Chargers (+ 172) in their home turf. KC opens as 3.5-point favourites, with the OU for the game at a very low 42.5.
The Chiefs almost lost to the Aidan O’Connell led Las Vegas Raiders last week, as this has to be the fakest 11-1 team the NFL has ever seen. They are barely beating terrible teams, and getting a lot of help from the refs while at it. Perhaps they can turn it on at will in the playoffs or against tougher opposition, but I just don’t see it this year with them.
The Chargers won against the Atlanta Falcons last week, cementing their playoff status despite a tough end of season schedule. Ladd McConkey has emerged as the much needed WR1 for the team, even though quarterback Justin Herbert struggled against the Falcons’ defense. Their own defense intercepted Falcons’ quarterback Kirk Cousins four times, so they come in hot against Mahomes.
Overall I think that the Chargers are well equipped to pull of an upset, but it is always hard playing against 11 & the refs. My only hope for the game is that there are more than the aforementioned 42.5 points and hopefully Ladd McConkey can get me into the fantasy playoffs.
