AFC matchup tonight as the Broncos look to lock up the final wild card spot.
And we close off Week 13 of NFL football with an AFC conference matchup as the Broncos (- 280) look to keep the good times rolling as they face off against the Winston-led Cleveland Browns (+ 230) in Denver. The Broncos open up as 5.5-point favourites with the OU for the game at 42.5 points.
The Browns came out as unlikely victors last week against the Steelers in what has to be one of the most enjoyed games in recent Cleveland history. Jameis Winston played his heart out, and running back Nick Chubb punched the ball in for two touchdowns on a snowy day. It is hard not to root for this team, as they went from perhaps the most unlikable quarterback to one of the most charismatic ones in the NFL. Hopefully they can find some magic to upset the Broncos and help out the Colts in their playoff race.
The Broncos took care of business last week against the Raiders, led by another tidy performance by rookie sensation Bo Nix and a stingy defensive effort against one of the worst offenses in the NFL. At 7-5, the Broncos are in sole possession of the final AFC wild card spot and could emerge as one of the most unlikely playoff teams with a win tonight.
Overall, I think the line is a bit too skewed in favour of the Broncos, as rookie quarterbacks are prone to inconsistencies and having to face an edge-rusher the caliber of Myles Garrett will not be easy for Nix. I also think that Winston really wants to win, which gives this Browns team an extra edge. Lookout for the upset tonight.
