Stampede Blue
The Indianapolis Colts are on the road to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in week 12 of the 2025 season, kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. EST.
Fresh off of their bye the Colts travel to take on the 5-5 Chiefs.
This Chiefs offense struggles against man coverage and has struggled to run the football this season. Coincidently, Lou Anarumo wants nothing more than to play a lot of man coverage and for the first time in Indy, he has two former all-pro’s lining up at outside corner that will give him that ability. Defensively the Chiefs are good but are unlikely to be able to hold up to the Colts rushing attack, as long as Indy doesn’t abandon the ground game.
In short, this game (on paper) looks good for the Colts. With that said, it looked good going into the Steelers game, too. Colts fans have every right to feel optimistic about this one but the fact that it all lines up so well gives me pause. Nothing ever goes completely according to plan in the NFL and this one won’t either. Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid hasn’t forgotten how to coach. Also, Daniel Jones hasn’t looked great in his last couple of outings and he’ll be facing a Chiefs defense led by DC Steve Spagnuolo who can’t wait to send blitzers his way. Something Jones has struggled with of late.
In a way we have to place a bet on Spags vs Jones or Lou vs Mahomes and when you put it like that, I’m a lot less optimistic than I was just a minute ago.
I will be at this game hoping to see yet another Colts win in Arrowhead stadium. Hopefully the Colts put on a show out of their bye. Hopefully Jonathan Taylor rushes for three more touchdowns. Hopefully Sauce and Mooney shut the Chiefs offense down. Hopefully the Colts win in blowout fashion and I get to talk a lot of trash at work on Monday. Hopefully.
Prediction:
Chiefs: 23
Colts: 31
As always, go Colts.
