Week 10 NFL Picks: Why are Packers still favored over Eagles?

It’s honestly a bit remarkable that the Green Bay Packers are still favored this week. Home-field advantage remains a real factor for sportsbooks in setting lines, but after the team’s awful home loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, it feels strange that they would be favored against the #1 team in the NFC under any circumstances.

Still, that’s the case for Monday night’s game, as the Packers remain 2.5-point favorites despite recent events.

To be fair, the Eagles have not been the juggernaut that they were in the recent past or in last year’s playoff run. They do sit atop the conference’s playoff standings for now, but they are 5-1 in one-score games and their defense has been unusually middling up to this point. They have allowed at least 20 points in all but one of their games so far, and the Packers still have (in theory) a better offense than some of the teams that have put up those numbers on Philly in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are struggling on third downs, both on offense and defense. If Green Bay can get some quick stops defensively, that could be the difference in this game.

But do we at Acme Packing Company think that the Packers will actually be able to come out and win this game — let alone do so by at least a field goal? That’s a different story. Take a look at our picks for Packers-Eagles and all of the other games across the NFL below and let us know what you think about Monday’s game in the comments!
