We get (or have?) to watch the Las Vegas Raiders on primetime for their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Denver Broncos. The Raiders’ season might be bleak with a 2-6 record, but Week 10 means we’re officially at the halfway point of the regular season in our Silver and Black Pride Pick’em competition. Holder’s picks: LV +9.5, DEN ML, Over 42.5
There’s no reason to think that the Raiders can pull off the outright upset on the road, but they could easily keep this to a one-score game. The Broncos have had several slow starts this season, and five of their seven wins have been by one possession. Also, Thursday nights are typically unpredictable, and last week highlighted how much a healthy Brock Bowers can impact Las Vegas’ offense. I’ll take the points and the over.
Moving on to S&BP’s Pick’em competition, below is a look at how our writers finished in Week 9.
Last week was a rough one for me, as I was the worst picker among the writers, going 8-6. The Cincinnati Bengals not being able to get a stop in crunch time against the Chicago Bears was the difference between me gaining and dropping another game to Bill, who went 9-5. Meanwhile, Ray had an impressive showing at 10-4 but still sits in last place, seven picks behind Bill and four behind me.

After a week of having a solo leader, we’re back to a three-way tie at the top of the community standings. Tennessee Raider Fan and Pick’em Pro managed to pull even with EdgarEdmo8 by going 10-4, while Edgar had “just” nine winners last week. Also, JeepRaider is only one game behind that trio, and Alaskan Raida is firmly in the mix as well. So, we’re due for some drama in the second half of the season! Finally, shout out to last week’s top picker, TorinDorn4Life, for an impressive performance despite all of the upsets on Sunday.
