We already know who the Packers will play, but today we find out when.
Happy Schedule Release Day to all who celebrate — which, in theory, is all of us. We’d all like to know when the Packers are playing, right? That’s probably true, even though we already know who the Packers are playing this year and have for some time.
Even if there aren’t technically that many surprises, I can’t help but get caught up in the schedule release hype. Maybe, as a dad, I’m soft and emotional because I like seeing other people get excited about things, but it’s just kind of neat to see people get jazzed for the upcoming NFL season. AFter all, football is quite far away, and I think everybody could use something to be excited about. It might as well be the slow reveal of what amounts to just a list of names and dates.
But hey, that’s not all that much different from the NFL Draft, which is really just someone reading a list of names of people and universities. The NFL offseason is a big time for lists, I guess. Who won the lists, though? That’s what I want to know.
But anyway, I can’t help but being excited. Once we’ve got the locations and times of every Packers game, the season is just that much closer. And maybe that’s the real excitement of today: we’re one real step closer to actual Packers football.
Road games are always their own challenge, but at least the Packers have the benefit of avoiding serious road miles.
If you need a non-schedule thing to get excited about today, pinning all your hopes and dreams on Edgerrin Cooper doesn’t seem like a bad move. You’ll have plenty of company!
Jayden Reed seems a bit disgruntled lately, but maybe he shouldn’t be.
Had Sean Rhyan not been dinged for a PED suspension his rookie season, he’d probably have made this easily.
There’s a new quarterback in down. Here’s what you need to know.
This story sounds like something out of a bad 80s movie where the town has to band together to save the community center through the power of dance or something. Anyway, I hope that the cat has many healthy years ahead.
