It didn’t take long for Jerry Jones to defend his decision to trade away Micah Parsons. After months of tense negotiations, Jones and the Dallas Cowboys opted to trade Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

“The Dallas Cowboys traded four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.”
“In exchange, the Cowboys received three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks (2026 and 2027.”
Parsons immediately signed a massive four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers that includes $120 million fully guaranteed at signing.
After the trade, Jones held a press conference to justify trading away Parsons.
“This gives us a chance to be a better team than we’ve had the last several years.”
“We gained a Pro Bowl player in an area where we had big concerns on the inside of our defense….we did think it was in the best interest for our organization for the future and this season as well.”…we can win without Micah, in our minds, more than had we gone the other route and signed. That’s not a negative on Micah. He’s just unique.”

Cowboys fans ripped Jones to shreds over his comments.
This guy is a clown. Who is “we” ? Isn’t he the GM and Owner? Who checks him? His son? I’m sure that works lol.
He has a legitimate dictatorship running over there. Regardless of what he got in return, he is moving like a clown. https://t.co/CR9nZoL079

Even media members think Jones has lost his mind.
I know it’s hard to deny yourself something you love, but if I was a Cowboys fan I would boycott the team this year.

We’ll have to wait and see if Jones’ gamble pays off, but as of now, everyone thinks he made a huge mistake.
