A wild video has emerged of Minnesota Vikings legend Adrian Peterson being involved in an impromptu fight at a poker tournament. And surprisingly, the NFL great doesn’t look too good despite facing a man half his size.

The seven-time Pro Bowler is not just the greatest running back in Vikings history. He is arguably one of the best athletes professional sports has seen in the 21st century. Since his days as a star back for the Oklahoma Sooners, Peterson always seemed like an athletic man among boys. However, being a gifted athlete doesn’t always make for a talented scrapper.

This week, TMZ Sports published a video of a poker game involving the retired former NFL star going very wrong. In the clip (which you can find below), Peterson is seen squaring off with an unidentified man over a dispute. Despite efforts from staff and security to diffuse the situation, the man throws a punch that gets the fight wheels in motion.

Adrian Peterson stats (Career): 3,230 rushes, 14,918 rushing yards, 120 touchdowns, 4.6 yards per carry

When the two get into open space, the much smaller man surprisingly lands a pair of clean shots on the Vikings legend. He then lands a couple more after Peterson can’t seem to keep his balance while charging at him. Eventually, the NFL vet gets his hands on the man and shows off his superior strength. But it doesn’t stop him from taking more strikes from his faster foe.

It’s a very surprising watch because Peterson is only 40 years old and a few years from being in NFL shape. Yet, this average Joe was surprisingly able to get the best of the former football star. It adds to the case that Peterson may be nowhere near as good a fighter as he is a football player.

The Minnesota legend faced fellow NFL alum Le’Veon Bell in a pro boxing fight three years ago. He was knocked out cold by the former Pittsburgh Steelers star in the fifth round.
