New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs had an eventful first day of training camp before it even started. Carrying a puppy onto the practice field as part of the team’s pet adoption initiative, he almost lost it: Diggs put it on the ground, and it quickly took off, forcing Diggs to chase it down.
The wideout eventually reeled the dog back in. He then went on to catch two passes from quarterback Drake Maye in his first camp practice with his new team, and his first extended action since tearing his ACL last October.
The Patriots will hold their second practice of training camp on Thursday, 10:15 a.m. ET. Gates for the free-to-attend session will open an hour earlier.
