It’s been a few weeks since we fired up Madden 25, and I’m feeling some withdrawals. Not because it’s a good video game. It’s decidedly not. But our weekly Madden simulations during the Detroit Lions are a beautifully chaotic way to spend my Saturday mornings, and our last one—our Lions vs. Commanders Divisional Round preview—was one of the most ridiculous ones we’ve ever run.
The Lions erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to win 30-24. Alas, real life was not nearly as kind, and our Madden Sim series came to a sudden end.
But it’s time to bring it back one more time for the 2024-25 NFL season. You may have noticed that the Super Bowl is this week, and why not try and see what will happen with a dumb simulation of Madden?
We may hate both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, but it’s still the Super Bowl. And, who knows? Maybe deep within their programming, Madden has an asteroid waiting.
