It has been a difficult two months for the Jets. I doubt anybody around the team expected an 0-7 start. It was a particularly difficult week for Fields, who had become a lightning rod for criticism because of his struggles. You don’t often see a team owner so publicly bash his quarterback.
Some wins have long term implications for a football team. Time will tell whether that will be the case here. To me it’s just nice to see these guys get to enjoy a victory heading into the bye week. It has been a frustrating season in New York. When a team loses over and over, it can feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes one win can calm things down.
