Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little booted a 70-yard field goal to end the first half in Saturday’s preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It wasn’t close, either. It would have been good from 72 yards out. The NFL record is 66 yards, which was set by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker against the Detroit Lions in 2021.
Little’s jaw-dropping kick cut the Steelers’ lead to 14-9 at halftime. Little recently made a 72-yard field goal in a workout, according to USA Today.
Little’s 70-yarder will not go in the record books, as it’s a preseason game, but it’s a clear sign that the Jaguars could have a future star at kicker.
Little was a sixth-round pick out of Arkansas by the Jaguars in the 2024 NFL draft. He was named to the Pro Football Writers of Amaerica’s All-Rookie Team after making 27 of 29 field goal attempts (93.1%) last season. His longest field goal on the year was from 59 yards out. He also had 69 touchbacks on kickoffs.
The NFL record is 66 yards.
