It’s not hyperbolic to call that Chicago Bears 47 to 42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals one of the craziest games in Bears history. It was a back-and-forth contest with over a thousand combined yards of offense that fittingly came down to the final seconds.

Bears quarterback Caleb Williams continues to show that clutch-gene that you need your QB to have when he threaded a pass to rookie tight end Colston Loveland with 25 seconds left in the game and the Bears down one. Loveland shook off a couple of tackles and ran 35 more yards to the end zone to give Chicago the lead with just 17 seconds to go.

The Bengals’ offense and 40-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco had their way all afternoon, so Chicago fans were holding their collective breath, but there wasn’t enough time for Flacco to get them downfield, and his last-second heave was intercepted.

The Bears move to (5-3) with the win.

After the game, head coach Ben Johnson said they were looking for a particular Cincinnati coverage during the second half, and they didn’t get it on several play calls, but on this play, they got the exact look they wanted, and Williams delivered the ball to Loveland.
