Things are not going well between Terry McLaurin and the Washington Commanders front office.
McLaurin wants to be in Washington, but it appears the two sides don’t see eye-to-eye on his contract.
The All-Pro receiver is entering the final year of his deal, and following a great 2024 season, he wants a new contract before he hits the field.
McLaurin made it clear he’s been frustrated with the pace of discussions on a contract extension.
“I’ve been pretty frustrated, I’m not gonna lie. Everything that has transpired up until this point has been disappointing and frustrating,” Terry McLaurin said.
“I want to continue my career here, I’ve created my life here… so this has been somewhere I’ve always wanted to be. Just to see how things have played out has been disappointing.”
Terry McLaurin just said he hasn’t heard from the #Commanders on an extension in over a month.

The 29-year-old sat out during minicamp to send a message to the team. Despite the lack of movement on a new contract, McLaurin insisted he does not want to be traded, saying, “I want to be here. I want to make that abundantly clear.”
Key points from Terry McLaurin:

He later added that it would be tough for him to take the field without a new deal and that it’s been over a month since the team engaged in contract talks.
McLaurin had an excellent season in 2024.
He caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns. 2024 was his fifth season, topping 77 catches and 1,000 yards. From 2020 to 2023, he averaged 1,091 yards and five touchdowns per season.
Keeping him happy is a key factor in the development of quarterback Jayden Daniels.
With Daniels and Terry McLaurin, the Commanders will enter the season with Super Bowl aspirations in 2025.
