Last year saw the Washington Commanders reach the NFC Conference Championship, thanks in large part to an excellent rookie season from Jayden Daniels. A strong season set the Commanders up to begin the year with even higher expectations in 2025.

Yet, fans have instead been forced to sit through a season that has been derailed by a string of setbacks. None of which are more impactful than the series of injuries to Daniels, who’s missed three starts, and may be set to miss many more, if not the rest of the season.

Despite the injuries suffered by their franchise player, the Commanders may now be willing to trade away multiple offensive linemen. The NFL trade deadline arrives on Tuesday, so Washington will have to act quickly to find a deal.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Commanders “have been open to trading several players, including Andrew Wylie and Nick Allegretti.”

Wylie has appeared in all nine of the Commanders’ games this season, making four starts in the process. The 31-year-old would bring 92 starts and 109 NFL appearances to his next team. Allegretti, 29, has appeared in all nine games this season, making two starts. Though, the Commanders had him start all 17 regular season games for them last year.

Wylie is on an expiring contract, so the Commanders would be wise to get anything they can in return for him. Meanwhile, Allegretti is under contract through 2026, which could make him more valuable to other teams too. Both players would bring a lot of experience to their new teams, and capable offensive linemen are always valued by playoff contenders this time of year.
