Injury updates
Washington held a walkthrough in the practice bubble yesterday, and then heated up the practice fields to hold a full practice this afternoon. Three players had vet rest days on Wednesday, but only Dante Fowler Jr was removed from the injury report. Zach Ertz(rib) and Clelin Ferrell(knee) are still listed as they deal with lingering injuries. Jamison Crowder was given a day off today.
Daron Payne suffered a thumb dislocation vs the Buccaneers, but was able to play vs the Lions on Sunday. He was listed with a new knee injury this week, and he didn’t practice again. Bobby Wagner reportedly suffered a high-ankle sprain vs the Bucs, and barely practiced last week. He played 100% of the snaps vs the Lions, and seems to be on the same practice schedule this week. Expect a limited practice tomorrow for the future Hall of Famer, but he will likely play either way.
Only one player was added to Thursday’s injury report. Third-string QB Jeff Driskel missed today’s practice due to an illness. He has been the team’s emergency QB for the majority of the season. If Driskel isn’t active on Sunday, UDFA rookie QB Sam Hartman could be elevated from the practice squad.
A few player statuses were downgraded from yesterday’s walkthrough estimation. TE John Bates, TE Ben Sinnott, and LB Frankie Luvu are dealing with shoulder injuries and were all limited today. Rookie DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste(shoulder) and veteran WR Olamide Zaccheaus(hip) remain limited.
