The Washington Commanders released their final injury report for today’s game on Friday and then made some roster moves yesterday. Center Michael Deiter and WR Chris Moore were elevated from the practice squad, and are both active today. Chris Rodriguez’s father posted that his son would be inactive today, and the Commanders confirmed it when they announced the inactives for today’s season opener against the New York Giants. That leaves three RBs active for today, Austin Ekeler, Bill Merritt, and Jeremy McNichols.

Washington has their two rookie LBs inactive today. Ale Kaho was an undrafted free agent from UCLA, and his teammate, Kain Medrano, was selected in the 6th round. The Commanders also have another young defender out today, making DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste inactive. A pair of backup tackles(Trent Scott, George Fant) will be on the sidelines, and QB Josh Johnson is inactive, but designated as the emergency 3rd QB.

The big news for the Giants this week was LT Andrew Thomas’s availability this week. He had a limited practice, but was listed as doubtful. Thomas had foot surgery last year, and is still working to get back on the field. Free agent signing James Hudson is expected to start at LT for the Giants today.
