The Washington Commanders released their final injury report for today’s game on Wednesday and then made two roster moves yesterday. CB Antonio Hamilton Sr and WR Tay Martin were elevated for today’s game, Hamilton was elevated last week, and Martin gets elevated for the first time with Terry McLaurin out with a quad injury.
The Commanders ruled out four players on offense and also downgraded S Percy Butler due to a hip injury. Jayden Daniels(knee) misses his second game in a row. Marcus Mariota steps in to start against another former team, with Josh Johnson moving into the QB2 spot again. Washington didn’t elevate Sam Hartman, so no designated emergency 3rd QB today. TE John Bates and WR Noah Brown both suffered groin injuries in Week 2 and are out again today. Washington will have their other three TEs available.
Washington has two rookie LBs is active today. Ale Kaho was an undrafted free agent from UCLA, and gets his second game active, while teammate Kain Medrano, selected in the 6th round, gets his first activation.
Brandon Coleman is inactive for the second week after getting benched for Chris Paul vs the Raiders.
Preston Smith is inactive again after signing with the team that drafted him two weeks ago.
Safety Darnell Savage was signed this week and is active for his first game with the Commanders due to injuries in the secondary.
Bill Merritt was the only questionable player after Butler was downgraded to out. It was reported last night that he would be active today, and he will be suited up along with Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. Bill was experiencing knee soreness this week and wore a sleeve. He only practiced on Friday, but was a full participant.
