The Washington Commanders made two moves before tomorrow’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have elevated DT Ricky Barber and WR River Cracraft for the season finale. Both players were also elevated for last week’s game on Christmas day against the Dallas Cowboys.
Ricky Barber only played 15 snaps on defense in his NFL debut, but he made a big impression. He had 5 combined tackles and a sack against the Cowboys. Fans were hoping to get another look at the rookie UDFA from UCF, and they could get another look tomorrow. Daron Payne missed last week’s game due to a back injury, but was a full participant in practice all week, and is expected to play against the Eagles. Johnny Newton also took advantage of Payne’s absence last week, recording 9 combined tackles, 3 sacks, and 5 QB hits.
River Cracraft has been with the Commanders on and off since August, and hasn’t seen much action. He was active last week, but only played one snap on special teams. Cracraft returned one punt for 0 yards.
