Washington Commanders Injury Update: Jayden Daniels returns to practice; unlikely to play this week

The Washington Commanders evaluated QB Jayden Daniels after the bye week, and he’s unlikely to play against the visiting Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football per multiple reports. He is expected to return to practice this week, but the likely target is Week 14 when the Commanders visit the Minnesota Vikings.

Jayden Daniels suffered an ugly elbow dislocation in the 4th quarter of a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. He’s already missed two games for this injury, and will likely miss at least one more. This is the third injury the second-year QB has suffered, following a Week 2 knee sprain that kept him out of two games, and a Week 7 hamstring injury that forced him to miss another game.

The Commanders are 3-8 and are all but eliminated from playoff contention. Daniels is expected to play when healthy, despite fan concerns that he should be shut down at the tail-end of a lost season.
