The report from Grant Paulsen about Jayden Daniels getting an MRI for a potential knee injury has been confirmed, and he is dealing with a knee sprain per multiple reports. Ian Rapport says the second-year QB’s status for Sunday’s home game against the Las Vegas Raiders is also in doubt as he works through the injury. Daniels took several hits in the Packers game, but was seen favoring one leg after getting rolled over.
Head Coach Dan Quinn is scheduled to speak to the media at 3:30 p.m. ET today, and he’s expected to give an injury update on Daniels, and possibly other players that were injured Thursday night. They have already lost RB Austin Ekeler(Achilles) and DE Deatrich Wise (calf) for the season, and had hanstring injuries to TE John Bates and WR Noah Brown.
If Daniels can’t play on Sunday due to the knee injury, backup Marcus Mariota would get his first start since 2022. He played in three games for the Commanders last season, his first with the team. Josh Johnson is the team’s third-string QB, and he would be active as Mariota’s backup on game day.
