The Washington Commanders aren’t done making changes to the coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and the team mutually agreed to part ways. It was reported shortly after that they had also fired defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. He had already had his playcalling duties stripped by head coach Dan Quinn who took control of the defense in November.
The next coach out is offensive line coach Bobby Johnson who joined the team when Dan Quinn was hired in 2024. He had previously been fired by the New York Giants, but had some success in Washington in his first season with NFL Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels leading the offense. Injuries hit everywhere this season, and the offensive line wasn’t spared.
As Quinn looks for a fresh start on his coaching staff, and a spark after this season’s massive disappointment, expect more changes before two new coordinators are added.
