They’re heading into the locker rooms at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, and your Minnesota Vikings lead the Washington Commanders by a score of 14-0.
The Vikings took over at their own 2-yard line after turning Washington away in goal-to-go, and then embarked on what might have been their most impressive drive of the season, going 98 yards in 19 plays, taking over twelve minutes off the clock. The capper came when Jordan Mason took a handoff and blasted over the left side from eight yards out to give the Vikings a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
The Vikings’ defense then forced a three-and-out, giving the ball right back to the offense. Unfortunately, the Vikings’ offense couldn’t do anything with it on this possession, and they punted for the first time on the afternoon. Washington couldn’t do anything offensively, either, and the Vikings took a two-touchdown lead into the locker room.
Each team has only had three real possessions in this one, but the Vikings have made two of theirs count, and they’ve got a 14-0 lead over the Commanders at halftime as a result. Come on in and join us for the third quarter of this one, folks!
