Vikings/Seahawks Odds: Minnesota a Road Favorite Once Again

At a place where they, historically, haven’t had a lot of success

With a short week to prepare for a trip to the West Coast, the odds for this weekend’s contest at Lumen Field between the Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks might come as a bit of a surprise at first glance.

According to our friends from FanDuel, the Vikings have opened this week’s betting action as a 3-point favorite over the Seahawks. The over/under for the game has initially been set at 43.5 points.

To say that the Vikings haven’t had a lot of success against the Seahawks in their history would be an understatement. Of the 19 games that these two teams have played, counting the playoffs, the Vikings have only won six times. That includes just two wins in 12 tries in Seattle, a place where they haven’t tasted victory since 2006, when Chester Taylor’s franchise-record 95-yard touchdown run sparked them to a 31-13 victory over the Seahawks.

The Vikings, as we know, are in a fight for the top spot in the NFC North and the NFC over the last three weeks of the season, and starting with this trip to Seattle they’ll face the toughest schedule in the league here in the homestretch. The Seahawks are still in a battle with the Los Angeles Rams for the top spot in the NFC West and, potentially, a Wild Card spot. They travel to SoFi Stadium for the final game of the regular season for both of those teams in Week 18.

The weather forecast for Seattle for Sunday is calling for rain, unsurprisingly. At this point it might be more of a mist than any sort of actual rain, but it could make things a bit more difficult for both teams in this one.

This game will kick off at 3:05 PM Central time and be broadcast on the FOX family of networks, with Adam Amin and Mark Sanchez handling the call from the booth.
