The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has a tough matchup in this week’s game, facing a highly-touted Minnesota Vikings defense led by coordinator Brian Flores. However, that unit will be missing one of its top players following the Vikings’ final injury report.
Minnesota outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel has been ruled out for the game following a neck injury he missed time with during the week.
The veteran linebacker is coming off his best year as a pro, where he logged 11.5 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, 79 total tackles, and two interceptions in 2024. Capable of off-ball duties as well as pass rushing, he’s become an important player in Flores’ creative scheme.
In Van Ginkel’s place, it’ll likely be 2024 first-rounder Dallas Turner taking the majority of snaps. He had a quiet rookie season with just 20 total tackles and three sacks last season, but had a good game last week against the Bengals, logging a handful of pressures.
Joining Van Ginkel as out on the injury report are Minnesota’s starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy, starting guard Donovan Jackson, and backup tight end Ben Yurosek.
