Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears host J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings. Williams benefits from former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who was regarded as one of the best play-callers in the NFL during the past few seasons.
Williams also gets one of the best offensive threats from the 2025 NFL Draft, Colston Loveland. A collegiate teammate of McCarthy, Loveland being selected over Tyler Warren by an offensive guru says a lot.
McCarthy gets Aaron Jones and old friend Jordan Mason in the backfield. He’ll also have arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, Justin Jefferson, to help him out. Star left tackle Christian Darrisaw won’t play, so McCarthy won’t have his blindside protected. That’s something to keep an eye on during this contest.
Ultimately, this game should come down to the head-to-head matchup between Ben Johnson and Brian Flores. They are two of the very best at what they do. Flores is aggressive, but the same is true for Johnson. It should be a fun chess match between a couple of NFC teams that many people are picking to surprise in 2025.
