Pro Football Rumors
The Vikings lost Jalen Nailor in free agency but have since brought in Jauan Jennings as a No. 3 receiver. The former 49er will be joined as a starter by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Despite having a well-established depth chart, Minnesota could still be among the teams to make a WR addition this summer. Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post names the Vikings as a team which should not be counted out regarding another move at that position. New general manager Nolan Teasley is in place, and he has enough cap space to make at least one veteran addition.
The Vikings currently sit mid-pack in terms of spending power with just over $13MM in cap space. That would be sufficient to add any of the top options still on the market. The likes of Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel, DeAndre Hopkins and Keenan Allen are unsigned at this point. A Diggs reunion with his original NFL team would be surprising, but the others would offer veteran depth for 2026.
Jefferson is attached to one of the league’s most expensive receiver deals, while Addison’s fifth-year option was exercised this spring (leaving him under team control through 2027). Jennings did not see his market develop as hoped, and he ultimately took a one-year Vikings pact featuring $5MM in incentives. Head coach Kevin O’Connell is known for using three-receiver schemes, so Jennings figures to have an impactful role during his debut Minnesota campaign.
The Vikings also have several depth receiver options as things stand, including 2025 third-rounder Tai Felton. Nevertheless, training camps around the league will soon experience an influx of veteran signings. It will be interesting to see if Minnesota is among the teams which winds up adding more experience at the WR spot this summer.
