The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers have issued their second injury reports ahead of their Thursday night matchup at SoFi stadium in LA. Here they are:
The Vikings are only doing walk-through practices this week, so these reports are an estimate of their participation had they conducted full practices. Aaron Jones was added to the injury list as his 21-day window to return from IR was opened. Kevin O’Connell’s comments about him sound promising for him to return on Thursday night. Carson Wentz was upgraded to full participant and was announced as the starting quarterback for the Chargers game, with Max Brosmer the backup and J.J. McCarthy the emergency third quarterback. O’Connell said they had worked out McCarthy in the morning to see how his ankle reacted to movement in the pocket and said he still wasn’t ready yet. He’ll likely return against the Lions next week barring something we don’t know about.
The Chargers had a couple changes from yesterday’s injury report, notably moving Otito Ogbonnia to IR and adding Jamaree Caldwell as a non-participant due to illness. Jamaree Salyer was also downgraded to limited after being listed as a full participant yesterday. Additionally, Hassan Haskins has also been ruled out for Thursday night’s game. The two key offensive linemen on the list- Joe Alt and Trey Pipkins- continue to be limited and will probably be questionable for Thursday night’s game, but we’ll see.
We’ll have two more updates on injuries tomorrow that will provide the last hints at who’s in and who’s out for Thursday night’s game.
