Vikes Views: Which Departure Will You Miss the Most?

The Minnesota Vikings have had a lot of additions this offseason. You can follow them all here. They’ve also said goodbye to a few players as well. Which player that signed elsewhere are you going to miss the most?

Cam Bynum

Bynum has been the starting safety the past three seasons. He is best known nationally for choreographing the amazing celebrations we see after big defensive plays. Bynum had 8 INTs in his 65 games in Minnesota.

Sam Darnold

There are a few casual fans out there that might be surprised the Vikings didn’t bring Darnold back after a 14 win season, but I think most saw this coming. It was a fun year. His 4,319 yards and 35 TDs is not a season I’ll soon forget. Seattle is getting a good QB, but I am not that excited about their prospects next season. The 3 year $100.5 million deal is basically the same his former teammate Baker Mayfield received last offseason.

Daniel Jones

Jones didn’t see the field in Minnesota, but was looked upon by many as the presumed QB2 for 2025. Jones had a better with a more promising view to a starting role. He’s on a one year $14 million deal and if it’s anything like the last few seasons, he’ll get some action with Anthony Richardson missing time.

Pat Jones II

Jones was a strong part of the DL rotation last season. He had 7 sacks in his last year on his rookie contract. It was perfect timing for him to get a payday and not a luxury the Vikings’ prioritized to keep around. The reported 2 years for $20 million he received from Carolina was a little too steep for Kwesi.

Nick Mullens

Mullens will be onto his 4th team in the NFL. He is loved by some because of his gunslinger playing style. He’s a more quiet Jameis Winston and he put in his time holding the clipboard the last three years in Minnesota. He signed a minimal 2 year $4 million contract with the Jaguars.

Johnny Mundt

Mundt was one of those guys you’d forget was on the team and he’d catch that 1 pass a game. Most of the time it was that 2nd quarter drive when they took out the starting RB. Mundt received a 2 year $5.5 million contract from the Jaguars, but they have an easy out of $500k after one season.

Trent Sherfield

Sherfield had a lot of fans coming out of training camp last season. I liked his play and he never seemed to get the opportunity. Hoping Sherfield gets a chance to shine in Denver. He’s on a two year $8 million deal with an east out after next season as well.
