The Minnesota Vikings got embarrassed by the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. The 16 point loss doesn’t give justice to the beating the Falcons defense put on the Vikings’ offense. The kickoff return team looked like it was their first time practicing the play. The game sucked and there are a lot of people to blame.
We’re giving out the Nincompoop of the Week, it’s clearly not that serious.

Why is KOC a Nincompoop? He had no answers for the very obvious game plan from the Atlanta Falcons. They came after the weakness at the OL. KOC knew Skule was out there and just watched him get beat over and over. Where were the quick passes? Run a slant, a quick out, a screen, something to help. There is a pattern from KOC when the team loses, they really lose. He seems to just get befuddled randomly. Last night he had no answers for a mediocre Atlanta Falcons team.
J.J. McCarthy
Why is McCarthy a Nincompoop? Get rid of the ball!!!!! McCarthy held onto the ball so long. His offensive line was struggling and he was giving them no help. He also missed several throws. It was an abysmal 2nd game for the young player. He’s still learning and it’s early, but last night was not good.
Matt Daniels
Why is Daniels a Nincompoop? The kickoff teams looked like they have never practiced it before. The returned bringing everything out no matter what. The Falcons muffed one of their returns and the returner still had time to run. Just a poor overall effort from Daniels’ group. Field Goals were good and I guess he coached up Wright?
Ivan Pace Jr.
Why is Pace a Nincompoop? Like a lot of the defense, he doesn’t know how to tackle. The undersized LB apparently thinks bumping into Bijan Robinson is going to knock him over. He seemed to read almost every run wrong and the few he didn’t he missed the tackles. He’s a weak spot on this defense.
Myles Price
Why is Price a Nincompoop? Price was an excellent example of the way the team played. Stupid decision making and dumb mistakes. Price returned three kicks out of the end zone to the 24, 31 and the 19. If he kneels down, they get it at the 35. That’s -31 yards for a team that is struggling to move the ball. The other three were returned to the 27, 20, and 22. Also, he fumbled the last punt. Price is mostly a special teamer and won’t be here long if these are the results.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
Why is Kwesi a Nincompoop? The lack of depth from his poor drafts is showing. Piecing together injured veterans is already costing this team. It’s Week 2. Not panicked, but the plan hasn’t worked outside of 1 decent quarter.
