40U football seems to be the new craze, at least on social media. Apparently, people love seeing old heads get banged up on the field, as clips of some rough hits have been going viral lately.
One such piece of footage shows a speedy running back taking off on a pacey rush and looking like no one would stop him. That is, until one dude throws his back into him, wiping him clean out as the ball pops out of his hand.
The internet had all sorts of things to say about the clip.
“These dudes really play like its for millions lmao,” someone laughed.

“Them boys play for the love of the game. Nothing but respect and love for those guys. Just because you didn’t make it to the nfl don’t mean you have to stop playing,” said another.

Another recent clip, this one from a 37U game, showed a 60-year-old dude tearing his ACL on one play.
And those aren’t the only highlights to go viral from the 40U league. Here’s another:
40U football seems to be a big thing across the country right now, and we suspect folks will start getting paid to play in due time. For now, though, players are suiting up simply for the love of the game.
As the name suggests, the leagues are made up of players 40 years and under who may have played high school or college football, but still want to get out there in their latter years and play somewhat meaningful games because dangerous drills like a certain one, which had people freaking out recently, simply aren’t enough.
37U football, noted above, is also a thing, but there doesn’t appear to be a strict cap, as 60-year-old players are allowed to come get hurt.
