An old clip of former NFL superstar Tom Brady telling Shedeur Sanders to spend more time in the film room and less time in his car has resurfaced on social media following the latter’s slide in the NFL Draft last week.
Brady, a sixth-round pick who went No. 199 overall in 2000, can certainly be used as motivation. But aside from that, he has served as a mentor to Shedeur.
Times are very different now, given the advent of NIL. It allowed Sanders to ball out on a $6.5 million salary that afforded him flashy cars, jewelry, and other luxuries.
It appears his father wasn’t all that fond of the lifestyle, though he was just as flashy back in his day, perhaps not to the same degree, as he didn’t have what his kids now have access to, despite coming into money at a very early age himself.
The Colorado head coach was on a call with Brady and his son when he got the seven-time Super Bowl winner to call Shedeur out, asking Brady his opinion on college kids needing a Rolls-Royce.
“I think he needs to get his a** in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible and less time in the car,” Brady replied.
Check it out in the video below:

Shedeur reportedly spent $400,000 on his Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
His fall in the draft will hurt his pockets considerably as his projected earnings over the next four years stand at $4.6 million, while No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward is due a whopping $48.8 million over that same spell.
