The Philadelphia Eagles did it again.
They landed an elite prospect who fell into their laps in the NFL Draft.
Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell has turned heads from the second he arrived as the No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 draft, and it now seems like he could be in for a bigger role.
According to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, Campbell is a candidate to get some work at defensive end as Nakobe Dean returns from injury.
“It’s possible,” Fangio said when asked about using Campbell as an edge rusher.
“It’s possible.”
Eagles DC Vic Fangio said when asked about Jihaad Campbell playing at EDGE.
“It does.”

This shouldn’t be a surprise, all things considered.
The Eagles’ pass rush has left plenty to be desired this season, and with Za’Darius Smith suddenly announcing his retirement, those woes only got bigger.
Also, Campbell has showcased an ability to get to the quarterback.
He has the blend of power, strength, athleticism and acceleration to turn the corner and beat offensive linemen to get to the pocket.
He’s been one of the most impressive rookie defenders so far.
With the way the Eagles have operated under general manager Howie Roseman, they’re not going to rest on their laurels.
They will always be looking to make a big splash, and they’ve never been afraid to take risks and do whatever needs to be done.
They don’t have a lot of depth at edge rusher, so they should be a team to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approaches, even if Campbell continues to excel.
