Just like the ones we used to know
When the National Football League descends upon U.S. Bank Stadium for the middle game of this year’s Christmas tripleheader, they will have the guarantee of a white Christmas.
Inside the stadium.
The Minnesota Vikings announced on Twitter/X a short time ago that they will be donning their Winter Whiteout uniforms when they host the Detroit Lions on 25 December in Minneapolis.
This will be the second straight season the Vikings have worn these uniforms for a prime time contest. The uniforms, complete with the white helmet, made their debut last season when the Vikings hosted the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Prior to that, the Vikings have done all-white jerseys before, but last year was the first season that the uniform rules were actually relaxed enough to allow teams to have an alternate helmet as well.
I would assume that this will also mean the team will call for a “Winter Whiteout,” imploring fans in attendance to show up in as much of their white Vikings gear as possible.
Minnesota crushed the Bears in last year’s game wearing these uniforms. Hopefully we can look forward to a similar result to, truly, make it a holly, jolly Christmas for Vikings fans.
