A petition for divorce by Keeta Vaccaro, the estranged wife of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, that was released on Tuesday details numerous instances of alleged abuse. The documents were unsealed Tuesday by Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Spencer Multack after requests to release the records were made by multiple media companies.

The 23-page petition, which was filed on Sept. 4, was unsealed after Tyreek Hill’s attorney Seth Schneiderman filed a notice supporting it being released. Schneiderman, according to Defector, had previously argued against the unsealing of the petition.

“You and your client are undoubtedly aware that any filing of this nature will be scrutinized by the media and become part of the public record. Should these baseless allegations trigger an NFL investigation, suspension or loss of income for Mr. Hill, the reputational and financial damage will be substantial and may be actionable,” Schneiderman wrote in a letter to Vaccaro’s lawyer prior to the documents being unsealed.

Schneiderman also added in that letter: “It is not in your client’s best interests and may expose all involved to significant liability. Should Mr. Hill suffer any reputational or financial harm as a result of this abuse of process filing and should the falsity of these claims be proven at trial, my client will pursue all available civil remedies against your client, your firm and you personally. Please govern yourself accordingly.”

Why didn’t Tyreek Hill want the documents made public?

It’s easy to understand why he and Tyreek Hill wouldn’t have wanted the document to be made available to the public. In the petition, Keeta Vaccaro, the sister of former NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro, details eight alleged instances of domestic violence.

“The document should never have been sealed in the first place and the Court’s Order unsealing of the document was consistent with Florida Law,” Keeta Vaccaro’s attorney Evan Marks said after the petition was released.

In the petition, Vaccaro claims that “throughout the marriage [Hill] repeatedly committed acts of physical violence.” Among those alleged acts of violence were spitting in Vaccaro’s face, attempting forcibly to remove her wedding ring from her finger, grabbing, pushing, shoving, pinching, and throwing Vaccaro to the ground, twisting and tugging on her intimate body parts, ripping her hair, grabbing Vaccaro’s jewelry and clothing, and physically cornering and restraining her against her will including while she was pregnant with the couple’s child and on the day before she gave birth.

Trouble from the beginning of the marriage

The petition also sheds some light on why Tyreek Hill filed for divorce less than three months after the couple’s wedding. Hill would initially deny he filed for divorce, but would later admit he had, but blamed it on a miscommunication with his attorneys.

According to allegations in the petition, it actually appears to have had to do with money. The documents claim that within a month of their wedding, Hill told Vaccaro that he wanted her to...
