The Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams are locked in a defensive struggle at SoFi Stadium in a game where field position could be crucial down the stretch.
With the potential for special teams to play an outsized factor in a game to determine first place in the NFC West for the next couple of weeks, as well as to keep pace in the race for the top seed in the NFC, the Seahawks will be without a key member of the special teams.
Tyrice Knight has seen the number of snaps he has played on defense decrease as the season has progressed, but at the same time has taken on a larger special teams role. That includes having played 56 special teams snaps in a three-game stretch in October and November, but he left the game and entered concussion protocols after an early special teams tackle against the Rams.
The player Knight tackled on the play, Xavier Smith, has also been ruled out with a concussion.
