An already horrific Miami Dolphins season has taken a sharp turn for the worse on Monday Night Football. Tyreek Hill may have wanted a trade out of Miami, dating back to the offseason. Now he definitely won’t get his wish.
While the Dolphins are beating the Jets 17-3, they’ve just lost Tyreek Hill for the rest of the game, shortly after the start of the third quarter.
It was 3rd and 8, at the Jets’ 34-yard line, when Tua Tagovailoa found Hill for a 10-yard connection and a first down. Unfortunately, Hill’s leg was twisted in the process of being tackled, and it didn’t flex back into its normal shape.

While they haven’t released any sort of diagnosis, they didn’t have to after Hill was carted off the field. He’ll be out for the rest of the season. He knows that, but Hill was still in good spirits following his exit.

Officially, Hill is headed to a local hospital for further medical attention. The Dolphins will likely release a diagnosis on their All-Pro receiver after the game or at some point tomorrow.
Even if the Dolphins are able to close out the rest of this game with a win, losing Hill is a big setback for the rest of their climb back up the AFC standings. Yet, Darren Waller’s two-touchdown debut is a nice sight on a somber night. Tagovailoa will have to rely on his new Pro Bowl tight end more often while looking to make up for the loss of Hill’s production.
Hill had six receptions for 67 yards prior to his exit. He’ll end his 2025 season with 21 receptions for 265 yards and a touchdown. He’ll turn 32 next season, which will be the final year of his contract, holding a cap hit of $51.8 million.
