This offseason, when the Miami Dolphins were looking to cut costs, releasing Tyreek Hill was one of the first moves made by the front office. While Hill tore the ACL in his left knee last season, he was undoubtedly one of the best players on the Dolphins’ roster. Yet, Hill has been a free agent since February. Why is the five-time First-Team All-Pro still unsigned in free agency?
Hill may have just provided the answer.

Hill suffered his ACL tear on Sept. 29, 2025. He’s already almost 10 months removed from the knee injury, which suggests he could be on track to return by the start of the season. But again, he has no team.
The 32-year-old posted a workout video to YouTube on Wednesday night. In the video, Hill volunteered that he has “no power” in his left leg.
Hill reveals that he was told by a doctor that he may not even ever walk again. Yet, he also showed that he’s performing workouts and drills that he was told he shouldn’t quite be doing yet.
Ultimately, while Hill clearly isn’t back to 100% yet, he also said, “The Cheetah will be back.”
Teams may want to see how Hill’s surgically repaired knee continues to respond to his rehab and recovery before committing millions of dollars to the eight-time Pro Bowler. Yet, with the type of world-class speed he’s shown, it won’t be long before Hill gets another opportunity in the NFL.
