PITTSBURGH — Two Pittsburgh Steelers upgraded the injury status of two of their players for Sunday’s Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears, with both defensive tackle Cam Heyward and cornerback Darius Slay having their injury status removed for the game.

Heyward suffered an ankle injury during practice on Friday, and was seen in the Steelers locker room after practice wearing a walking boot. After being given veteran rest days on Wednesday and Thursday, Heyward was listed as a limited participant in practice and was given a questionable designation, but is now good to go.

Slay suffered a concussion during the Steelers’ Week 10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He also missed last weeks’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals. This week, he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and cleared the NFL concussion protocol, but was listed as limited in participation on Friday and given a questionable designation.

It’s unclear as to whether Slay is still in like to start at outside cornerback opposite Joey Porter Jr. Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that his expectation has been than Slay would start if healthy, but that was before he missed practice time on Friday. James Pierre replaced Slay while he was out.

Two other Steelers players still have injury statuses for the game: outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (pec) is doubtful and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (fractured left wrist) is questionable.
